What does the
Club do?
We have races 3 times a week (Tuesday evenings, Thursday evenings, Saturday)
from April to October: weather and tides permitting.
Where
can I buy a dinghy?
Contact local dealers.
Put a wanted advert in the newspapers (e.g. Belfast
Telegraph),
Use the internet to search for sites selling Boats & Yachts.
Ask a Club member for advice before purchase.
Does the
Club hold regular meetings?
Yes, a meeting is held in the club house at Culmore Point, on the first Monday
of every month.
Everybody is welcome.
What safety
precautions are in place?
During races a Rescue Boat is operated. Club Safety Rules are adhered to and
recommendations made by experienced club members.
Do I need
insurance cover?
Yes, all members must have 3rd party .
For example a £2500 dinghy will cost approx £70
What are the Club's Membership Fees?
Family £90, Single £75, Student (18/21 years of age) £40
Fees to be paid by 1st Monday in June.
Do I have to
be an experienced sailor to join the club?
No, we welcome both novices and experienced sailors.
What types
of boats are used at the Club?
The club members have several types of dinghies, a selection is shown below...
GP14s and
Scorpions
: suitable for 2 adults, (or an adult and a teenager)
Toppers : single handed dinghy suitable for younger teenagers.
Lasers: single handed dinghy, used by adults and older teenagers. They are
available in 3 sizes to suit sailor's weight.
Standard 60+kg, Radial 55-70 kg and 4.7 35-55kg.(approx weights).

Do you run training
